The Life and Death of Jim Elliot

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose"

Jim Elliot coined this phrase during his time at Wheaton College, and to many Christians, it defines his missionary trip to Ecuador. In an attempt to gain a more in depth understanding of this story, we examine the major factors which led to its violent ending. Through primary sources compiled by Elisabeth Elliot, Jim's wife, we look at the narrative of Jim Elliot's life and death. We will explore the nature of the people he tried to reach, and examine how the legacy his death holds today.
